ORBDR 2023 — Bend to the Gorge
Three days on Oregon BDR sections 4 through 6, from south of Bend to the Gorge. Four riders crossed the east slope of the Cascades through high desert, forest, and small towns. About 300 miles. Plenty of ground to cover before the pavement returned.

North from Bend
The route began near La Pine and worked north through Sisters, the Detroit area, Mount Hood, Hood River, and Cascade Locks. It followed the central Cascades rather than chasing a single landmark, which made the changing ground the point of the ride.
Four Riders, Three Days
Four riders made the run. The BDR sections were short enough for a long weekend but varied enough to demand attention: high desert forest, rougher backcountry miles, and the steady push toward the Columbia River Gorge.
