Plan Your Ride
Before leaving
- Choose a legal campsite and check its current access rules.
- Check the forecast and choose an arrival time before dark.
- Share the plan and expected return time.
- Load the bike at home and check that luggage stays clear of moving and hot parts.
Sleep and clothing
- Shelter and its stakes or straps
- Sleeping bag or quilt and sleeping pad suited to the forecast
- Warm layer, dry socks, and rain gear
Food and camp
- Water and simple meals
- Headlamp
- First aid kit
- Trash bag
- Phone charger or battery bank
Bike and route
- Basic tools suited to your motorcycle
- Tire repair and inflation appropriate to your tires
- Offline maps and an easy route home
- Fuel plan
After the ride
- Record what you used.
- Record what was uncomfortable or missing.
- Change the next packing list before buying more gear.
